Veterinary Service of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg (Germany) implements the Establishment Register on the Basis of the ATS Platform Technology
The ATS Consortium Partner Unternehmensberatung Dr Karb GmbH (UBK) was awarded by the Agricultural Ministry of Baden-Wuerttemberg to establish a central establishment register for the sector of food safety and consumer protection.
The Veterinary Service operates several IT systems in order to fulfil his obligations in food safety and the consumer protection. Due to different technologies used and due to historical reasons there is a lack of interoperability between existing systems. This situation leads to repeated data entry of establishment information and to additional efforts to keep the consistency of establishment data.
In order to improve this situation and to facilitate data entry and data exchange between the involved IT system the new central establishment register will act as a central broker between the IT systems enabling them to receive or to provide establishment information.
In the light of frequent changes in the communication between the involved system attention has to be given to a convenient definition of data exchange and data transformation scenarios.
UBK will implement this establishment register on the basis of the ATS platform technology which allows a high degree of parameterization instead of developing specific source code.
This will also facilitate the integration with other IT systems in the future.
